Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 13, 2026
1. Introduction and Overview
Welcome to MeetOta, a dating platform operated by networkngn, Inc. ("we," "us," "our," or "MeetOta"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, accessing, or using MeetOta, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use our Service. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting the information we collect.
MeetOta is designed to help you discover and connect with people near you. To provide this service effectively, we need to collect and process certain types of personal information. We are transparent about our data practices and are committed to using your information responsibly, lawfully, and in accordance with applicable data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
2. Information We Collect
We collect several categories of information to provide, improve, and personalize our Service. The types of information we collect depend on how you interact with MeetOta and the features you use.
2.1 Personal Information
When you create an account on MeetOta, we collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us. This includes your full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and gender identity. Your date of birth is used to verify that you meet the minimum age requirement for using our Service and to display your age to other users. Your email address and phone number are used for account verification, security notifications, and communication purposes.
We also collect photographs and videos that you upload to your profile. These visual media are essential to the dating experience and are displayed to other users as part of your profile. You should exercise caution and good judgment when selecting media to share, as other users will be able to view this content. We may use automated tools to scan uploaded media for inappropriate content, compliance with our Community Guidelines, and to verify the authenticity of profile images.
2.2 Profile Information
To help you find meaningful connections, we collect additional profile information that you choose to provide. This includes your "About Me" description, personal interests and hobbies, dating preferences (such as preferred age range, distance, and gender preferences), and relationship goals (such as casual dating, long-term relationships, or friendship). You may also provide information about your education, occupation, height, lifestyle choices (such as smoking and drinking habits), and other characteristics that help personalize your experience.
Profile information is used by our matching algorithms to suggest compatible users and is displayed on your profile for other users to view. You have full control over the information you include in your profile and can update or remove it at any time through your account settings.
2.3 Location Data
Location data is a critical component of MeetOta's functionality. We collect your geographic location using GPS data from your mobile device, Wi-Fi network information, and IP address geolocation. This information is used to show you potential matches in your area, calculate distances between users, and provide location-based features such as proximity alerts and nearby user discovery.
We collect your city, state or region, and country information for display on your profile and for matching purposes. Precise GPS coordinates are used for distance calculations but are never shared directly with other users. Instead, we display approximate distances (e.g., "5 miles away") to protect your exact location. You can control location permissions through your device settings at any time, though disabling location services may limit certain features of the Service.
2.4 Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with our Service. This includes data about your matches, likes, dislikes, and Super Likes; messages sent and received through our chat feature; the profiles you view and the duration of those views; your swipe patterns and interaction frequency; the features you use and the time spent on different sections of the app; and your search queries and filter preferences.
Usage data helps us understand how our users engage with MeetOta, identify popular features, detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive behavior, and improve the overall user experience. We may use aggregated and anonymized usage data for analytics, research, and product development purposes.
2.5 Device Information
When you access MeetOta, we automatically collect certain information about your device. This includes your device type and model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (such as advertising identifiers and device tokens), mobile network information, browser type and version (for web access), language settings, time zone, and push notification tokens. Push notification tokens are used to deliver real-time notifications about new matches, messages, likes, and other activity related to your account.
Device information helps us optimize the Service for different devices and operating systems, troubleshoot technical issues, prevent fraud, and deliver targeted communications. We use industry-standard methods to collect device information and do not access any data on your device beyond what is necessary for the Service to function.
2.6 Payment Information
If you purchase a MeetOta Premium subscription or other paid features, we collect information related to your transaction. Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processors, Stripe and RevenueCat. We do not directly store your full credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details on our servers. Instead, our payment processors securely handle and store this sensitive financial information in compliance with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requirements.
We do receive and store certain transaction-related information, including your subscription plan type and status, transaction dates and amounts, billing address, payment method type (e.g., credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay), subscription start and end dates, and renewal history. This information is necessary for managing your subscription, processing refunds, providing customer support, and maintaining accurate financial records.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for various purposes related to providing, maintaining, and improving our Service. Our primary uses include:
Matching and Recommendations: We use your profile information, preferences, location data, and usage patterns to power our matching algorithm and suggest compatible users. Our system considers factors such as geographic proximity, shared interests, age preferences, relationship goals, and behavioral patterns to generate personalized match recommendations. We continuously refine our algorithms to improve match quality and user satisfaction.
Communication: We use your contact information to send you important service-related communications, including account verification emails, security alerts, match notifications, message notifications, and updates about changes to our Service or policies. With your consent, we may also send you promotional communications about new features, special offers, and dating tips. You can opt out of promotional communications at any time through your notification settings or by following the unsubscribe instructions in our emails.
Safety and Security: We use your information to maintain the safety and security of our platform and users. This includes verifying user identities, detecting and preventing fraud, spam, and abusive behavior, enforcing our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, investigating reported violations, and cooperating with law enforcement when legally required. We may use automated systems and manual review processes to identify and remove fake profiles, scam accounts, and users who violate our policies.
Analytics and Improvement: We use aggregated and anonymized data to analyze usage trends, measure the effectiveness of features, conduct research and development, and improve the overall quality of our Service. This includes A/B testing of new features, performance monitoring, crash reporting, and user experience optimization. Analytics data helps us make informed decisions about product development and ensure that MeetOta continues to meet the needs of our users.
Legal Compliance: We may use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and governmental requests. This includes responding to subpoenas, court orders, and other legal processes, as well as establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims.
4. How We Share Your Information
We take your privacy seriously and only share your information in the following circumstances:
4.1 With Other Users
Certain information from your profile is shared with other MeetOta users as part of the dating experience. This includes your first name, age, profile photos, "About Me" description, interests, and approximate location (city or distance). When you match with another user, additional information may become visible, such as your full profile details and the ability to exchange messages. You can control the visibility of certain profile elements through your privacy settings.
4.2 With Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes for which it was disclosed and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Our service providers include cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, payment processors (Stripe and RevenueCat), push notification services (Expo Push Notifications), analytics and crash reporting tools, email delivery services, content moderation services, and customer support platforms. We conduct due diligence on our service providers to ensure they maintain appropriate security measures and data protection practices.
4.3 For Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; enforce our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or other agreements; protect the rights, property, or safety of MeetOta, our users, or the public; detect, prevent, or address fraud, security issues, or technical problems; or respond to an emergency involving danger of death or serious physical injury to any person.
4.4 Business Transfers
In the event that networkngn, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our Service of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your information. Any successor entity will be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy with respect to information collected prior to the transaction.
4.5 With Your Consent
We may share your information with third parties when you have given us your explicit consent to do so. For example, if you choose to connect your MeetOta account with a third-party social media platform, we may share certain profile information with that platform as directed by you.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes. Specific retention periods include:
- Active account data: Retained for the duration of your account and up to 30 days after account deletion.
- Chat messages: Retained for the duration of the conversation between matched users. Messages are deleted when either user deletes their account or unmatches.
- Transaction records: Retained for up to 7 years after the transaction date to comply with financial record-keeping requirements and tax regulations.
- Usage logs and analytics data: Retained in anonymized or aggregated form for up to 3 years for analytics and product improvement purposes.
- Safety and fraud prevention records: Information related to banned accounts, reported violations, and fraud investigations may be retained for up to 5 years to protect the safety of our community.
- Legal hold data: Information subject to a legal hold or preservation request will be retained until the hold is lifted or the matter is resolved.
After the applicable retention period expires, we securely delete or anonymize your information using industry-standard data destruction methods. Anonymized data that can no longer be associated with you may be retained indefinitely for statistical and research purposes.
6. Your Rights and Choices
We believe you should have control over your personal information. Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have certain rights regarding your data.
6.1 GDPR Rights (European Union Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent local laws:
- Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, along with information about how we process it. We will provide this information in a commonly used, machine-readable format within 30 days of your request.
- Right to Rectification: You have the right to request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you. You can update most of your profile information directly through the app, or contact us for changes that cannot be made through the app.
- Right to Erasure: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances, such as when the data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, you withdraw your consent, or you object to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds.
- Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and to transmit that data to another controller without hindrance from us.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, such as when you contest the accuracy of the data or object to our processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes or when processing is based on our legitimate interests. If you object, we will stop processing your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer at support@networkngn.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days. If you believe that we have not adequately addressed your concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
6.2 CCPA Rights (California Users)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), grant you the following rights:
- Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected it, the business or commercial purposes for collecting it, the categories of third parties with whom we shared it, and the specific pieces of personal information we collected.
- Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions provided by law. We will also direct our service providers to delete your information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. MeetOta does not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration. However, certain sharing of data with advertising partners may constitute a "sale" under the CCPA. You can opt out of this sharing through your privacy settings.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. You will not receive different pricing, quality of service, or access to features based on your exercise of these rights.
- Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we hold about you.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: You have the right to limit our use of sensitive personal information, such as precise geolocation data, to purposes necessary for providing the Service.
To submit a verifiable consumer request, please contact us at support@networkngn.com. We will verify your identity before processing your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will respond to your request within 45 days, with the possibility of a 45-day extension if necessary.
6.3 Push Notification Controls
You can manage your push notification preferences directly within the MeetOta app through the Notification Preferences screen. You can choose to receive or disable notifications for new matches, messages, likes, Super Likes, profile views, and promotional content. Additionally, you can disable push notifications entirely through your device's operating system settings. Please note that disabling push notifications may cause you to miss important updates about your matches and messages.
6.4 Location Permissions
You can control MeetOta's access to your location through your device's operating system settings. You can grant or revoke location permissions at any time. If you revoke location permissions, certain features of the Service that rely on location data (such as nearby user discovery and distance calculations) will be limited or unavailable. You can still use other features of the Service, but your experience may be significantly impacted as location is a core component of the dating experience.
6.5 Profile Visibility
MeetOta provides you with controls over who can see your profile. Through your privacy settings, you can manage your profile visibility preferences, including the option to hide your profile from the discovery feed while maintaining existing matches and conversations. You can also control whether your online status is visible to other users, manage who can see your distance or location information, and control the visibility of specific profile details.
7. Data Security
We implement robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our security practices include:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security) 1.2 or higher. This ensures that your information cannot be intercepted or read by unauthorized parties during transmission.
- Encryption at Rest: Sensitive personal data stored on our servers is encrypted using AES-256 encryption. This includes passwords (which are hashed using bcrypt with appropriate salt rounds), payment tokens, and other sensitive identifiers.
- Secure Infrastructure: Our servers are hosted in secure, SOC 2 Type II certified data centers with physical access controls, 24/7 monitoring, and redundant power and network connectivity.
- Access Controls: We implement strict role-based access controls to limit employee access to personal information. Only authorized personnel with a legitimate business need can access user data, and all access is logged and monitored.
- Regular Security Assessments: We conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address potential security weaknesses.
- Incident Response: We maintain a comprehensive incident response plan to quickly detect, contain, and remediate security breaches. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law.
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information, but we are committed to maintaining the highest reasonable standards of data protection. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your MeetOta account and to enable two-factor authentication when available.

For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we ensure that transfers of personal data to countries outside the EEA are protected by appropriate safeguards. We also assess the legal framework of the recipient country to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
By using MeetOta, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions as described in this Privacy Policy. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.
