Community Guidelines
Last updated: February 13, 2026
MeetOta is built on the belief that everyone deserves meaningful, genuine connections. These Community Guidelines establish the standards of behavior we expect from every member of our community. By using MeetOta, you agree to follow these guidelines and help us maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all.
1. Our Community Values
Everything we do at MeetOta is guided by four core values that shape our community:
Respect
Treat every person on MeetOta with dignity and consideration. Everyone on this platform is a real person with feelings, boundaries, and the right to be treated kindly. Respect others' time, their decisions, and their right to say no.
Authenticity
Be yourself. MeetOta is a space for real people seeking real connections. We expect every member to represent themselves honestly in their profiles, photos, and conversations. Authentic connections can only happen when people are genuine about who they are.
Safety
Your safety is our top priority. We are committed to providing tools and policies that protect our members from harm, abuse, and exploitation. We expect every member to contribute to a safe environment by reporting concerning behavior and looking out for one another.
Inclusivity
MeetOta welcomes people of all backgrounds, identities, orientations, and walks of life. Discrimination has no place in our community. We celebrate diversity and believe that our differences make our community stronger and more vibrant.
2. Profile Guidelines
Your profile is your first impression on MeetOta. We require all profiles to meet the following standards:
Authentic Photos
All profile photos must be recent images of you. Your primary photo should clearly show your face. Do not use photos of other people, celebrities, or fictional characters as your own. Group photos are acceptable as secondary images, but your primary photo must feature only you.
Accurate Information
Provide truthful information in your profile, including your name, age, and other personal details. Misrepresenting your age, identity, or intentions undermines trust within the community and may result in account removal.
No Impersonation
Do not impersonate any other person, whether they are a public figure, another MeetOta user, or someone you know. Creating fake profiles or pretending to be someone you are not is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
3. Communication Standards
How you communicate on MeetOta matters. We expect all interactions to be respectful and considerate.
Respectful Messaging
Engage in conversations with kindness and genuine interest. Introduce yourself thoughtfully, ask questions, and be an active listener. Remember that the person on the other end is looking for connection, just like you. If someone is not interested, accept their decision gracefully and move on.
No Harassment
Harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Sending repeated unwanted messages after being asked to stop
- Using threatening, abusive, or intimidating language
- Making sexual comments or advances that are unwelcome
- Demeaning, insulting, or belittling another person
- Sharing someone's private information without their consent
- Contacting someone through other platforms after being blocked on MeetOta
No Spam
Do not send mass messages, copy-paste the same message to multiple users, or use automated tools to send messages. Do not use MeetOta to promote products, services, websites, or social media accounts. Each conversation should be personal and genuine.
4. Prohibited Content
The following types of content are not allowed on MeetOta and will be removed immediately upon detection:
Explicit Unauthorized Content
Unsolicited sexually explicit images, videos, or messages are strictly prohibited. Do not share intimate content without the clear and enthusiastic consent of the recipient. Sharing or threatening to share intimate images of another person without their consent (commonly known as "revenge porn") is a serious violation that will result in permanent removal and may be reported to law enforcement.
Hate Speech
Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly forbidden.
Violence
Content that threatens, glorifies, or incites violence against any individual or group is prohibited. This includes graphic imagery, threats of physical harm, and any content that could reasonably be interpreted as a credible threat to someone's safety.
Illegal Activity
Do not use MeetOta to promote, facilitate, or engage in any illegal activity. This includes, but is not limited to, drug trafficking, human trafficking, prostitution, distribution of illegal substances, money laundering, or any other activity that violates local, state, federal, or international law.
5. Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are not tolerated on MeetOta:
Catfishing
Creating a profile with false information or using someone else's photos to deceive other users is a serious violation. If we determine that a profile is fraudulent, it will be permanently removed without warning.
Scams and Fraud
Do not use MeetOta to solicit money, financial information, or anything of material value from other users. Romance scams, phishing attempts, and any form of financial fraud will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.
Solicitation
MeetOta is a platform for genuine personal connections. Do not use it for commercial solicitation, escort services, prostitution, or any form of transactional relationship. Promoting businesses, products, or services through your profile or messages is not permitted.
Stalking
Obsessive, unwanted attention toward another user is prohibited. This includes repeatedly contacting someone who has expressed disinterest, monitoring their activity on or off the platform, showing up at locations mentioned in their profile, or any other behavior that would cause a reasonable person to feel unsafe.
Discrimination
While everyone has personal preferences in dating, using MeetOta to demean, insult, or dehumanize others based on their identity is not acceptable. You may choose who you connect with, but you may not attack or degrade those you are not interested in.

7. Group Community Rules
MeetOta's group features allow you to connect with others who share your interests. Groups must follow all of our Community Guidelines, with the following additional expectations:
Respectful Discussion
Groups are spaces for meaningful conversation and shared interests. Engage in discussions constructively, listen to differing perspectives, and express disagreements respectfully. Personal attacks, trolling, and inflammatory comments are not permitted in any group.
No Hate Groups
Groups that promote hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group of people are strictly prohibited. Groups must not be organized around ideologies that seek to dehumanize, marginalize, or harm others. Any group found to be promoting hateful content will be immediately dissolved, and organizers may face permanent account removal.
8. Reporting Violations
How to Report
If you encounter behavior that violates these Community Guidelines, we encourage you to report it immediately. You can report a user or content by:
- Tapping the three-dot menu on a user's profile and selecting "Report"
- Long-pressing a message in a conversation and selecting "Report Message"
- Emailing our safety team directly at safety@networkngn.com
- Using the in-app "Report a Problem" feature in your account settings
What Happens After a Report
Every report is reviewed by our Trust and Safety team. We take all reports seriously and will investigate each one thoroughly. Here is what you can expect after submitting a report:
- You will receive confirmation that your report has been received
- Our team will review the reported content or behavior within 24 hours
- If a violation is confirmed, appropriate action will be taken against the offending user
- You will be notified of the outcome of your report when possible
- All reports are confidential, and the reported user will not be informed of who filed the report
9. Enforcement and Consequences
We enforce these Community Guidelines consistently and fairly. The consequences for violations depend on the severity and frequency of the offense:
Warnings
For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning to the user. Warnings serve as a notice that specific behavior is not acceptable and must not be repeated. Users who receive a warning will be informed of which guideline they violated and what changes are expected.
Temporary Suspension
For repeated violations or more serious offenses, we may temporarily suspend a user's account. During a suspension, the user will not be able to access MeetOta or any of its features. The duration of the suspension depends on the nature and severity of the violation, typically ranging from 24 hours to 30 days.
Permanent Ban
Severe violations, including but not limited to threats of violence, sharing non-consensual intimate images, confirmed fraud or scams, human trafficking, or any activity that poses an immediate danger to other users, will result in a permanent ban. Permanently banned users are prohibited from creating new accounts. We reserve the right to report serious violations to law enforcement authorities.
10. Safety Tips
While we work hard to keep MeetOta safe, your personal safety is ultimately in your hands. Here are some important tips to help you stay safe:
Meet in Public
When meeting someone from MeetOta for the first time, always choose a public, well-populated location such as a coffee shop, restaurant, or park. Avoid meeting at private residences or isolated locations until you have established trust with the person over multiple meetings.
Tell Friends or Family
Before going on a date with someone you met on MeetOta, tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to return. Consider sharing your live location with someone you trust for the duration of the date.
Trust Your Instincts
If something feels off about a conversation or a person, trust your gut feeling. You are never obligated to continue talking to someone, meet in person, or stay on a date that makes you uncomfortable. Your safety and comfort are more important than being polite.
- Never share financial information, your home address, or workplace details with someone you have not met in person
- Be cautious of anyone who asks for money or makes you feel pressured
- Arrange your own transportation to and from the date
- Limit alcohol consumption on first dates so you can remain alert
- If you feel unsafe at any point, leave immediately and contact local authorities if necessary
